Complaint publication 2021
The municipal council has adopted the list of complaints for 2021 (complaints about behavior from Sittard-Geleen municipality 2021). This is published on Sittard-Geleen’s municipality’s website and sent to the municipal council for information. The Commission will continue to closely monitor developments in the number of complaints and the handling of complaints.

Letter to GS college about Sittard station area
The municipal council asks the provincial government to discuss the future of the Sittard station area together. The reason is DSM’s departure from Sittard, which means that the future of the station area must be reassessed and the need for major investments is anticipated.

Pasveld, Kleine Allee and d. Jr. Ruijs de Beerenbroucklaan, withdraw from public transport
The municipal council has decided to close Pasveld, Kleine Allee and part of Jhr. Ruijs de Beerenbroucklaan near Wolfrath Castle from public transport. This is due to VDL Nedcar’s expansion plans on the north side of the current factory site. No objection was raised to the draft decision. At the end of December 2021, VDL Nedcar took over ownership of these roads.

The one-off measure accelerated the outflow of status holders to (hotel) accommodation
The municipal council agrees that the COA (Central Body for the Reception of Asylum Seekers) implements the one-off measure ‘accelerated outflow of status holders in (hotel) housing’. This means that they mediate and finance (hotel) housing for a maximum of 20 status holders who have been waiting a long time for housing in our municipality. The municipality is responsible for the supervision of this group.

Design zoning plan ‘New construction Rijstraat 3 and 5 Guttecoven’
The municipal council has approved the design of the area plan ‘Nieuwbouw Rijstraat 3 en 5 Guttecoven’. The design will be available for inspection for a period of six weeks. Views can be given during the inspection period. The draft zoning plan can be consulted in Stadswinkel in Geleen and online via www.ruimtelijkekalender.nl. After any comments received have been answered, the zoning plan is submitted to the municipal council for a decision.

Design facet zone plan and design facet management regulation Archeology
The municipal council has approved the design of the facet regulation plan ‘Archeology’ and the design of the facet management regulation ‘Archeology’. In this way, the policy in the Policy Document on ‘archeology and monuments in Sittard-Geleen Municipality 2012’ is correctly anchored in all municipal plans. The design will be available for inspection for a period of six weeks. Views can be given during the inspection period. The draft zoning plan and draft executive order can be consulted in Stadswinkel in Geleen and online via Ruimtekalender.nl. After any comments received have been answered, the zoning plan and the administrative regulations are submitted to the municipal council for a decision.

Memorandum to the municipal council regarding housing expenditure monitoring 2022
The municipal council has taken into account the housing cost monitoring 2022 in the province of Limburg. The Board of Directors will be informed of this in a note. The average municipal housing cost in 2022 for a homeowner from Sittard-Geleen is in 4th place in the rankings with an amount of € 900.84, where 1 is the cheapest. This is € 51.99 above the average housing cost in 2022 for the 4 largest Limburg municipalities. Out of all 31 municipalities in the province, Sittard-Geleen is in 27th place. This is € 49.68 above the average for the province.

Development path Geleen Centrum
The municipal council has decided to submit an application to Geleen Centrum from the Ministry of Economic Affairs’ Impulse Access for Purchasing Areas. The application focuses on circular renovation of municipal (vacant) buildings and (vacant) buildings of private parties around the northern part of the Markt and along the Raadhuisstraat. Part of the application is to fill these empty buildings with a mixture of functions, with which the Geleen Center will develop to become a breeding ground for the circular society as set out in the Future Vision 2030. The greening of the public space is also included in e.g. the plan.
