The communications and fundraising department ensures that everything our teams do and see in the field is shared with the Netherlands as efficiently as possible. We sometimes deliberately make a fist, raise money, involve and activate.

Together with your colleague, you focus on our existing donors (companies, foundations and individuals), who still have a huge potential to develop it further. That is why we are looking for an extra colleague! This is a challenging job for an experienced, enthusiastic and enterprising relationship leader who knows how to get things done.

Main responsibility;

  • Establishment and execution of strategies and action plans regarding the preservation, upgrade and recycling of special gifts among companies, foundations and individuals. Good cooperation with your colleague relationship managers in the acquisition team.
  • Maintain and deepen relationships with existing relationships to maintain the commitment to MSF.
  • Proactively identify projects that are attractive to your relationships and translate them into fundraising suggestions.
  • Setting up and executing various strategic projects, including improving customer journeys.
  • Create personal account plans for donors to better meet their needs and increase their commitment.
  • Preparation of proposals and reports on MSF’s work for your donor portfolio.
  • Reporting, monitoring and evaluation of activities performed.
  • Maintaining contact with other MSF departments that can contribute to our relationship with our donors.

Who are you;

  • An experienced professional with at least HBO work and thinking level
    and at least 3 years of experience in relationship management. It is an advantage if this is within the charitable sector.
  • You are a commercial, data-driven and results-oriented professional / woman. You never lose sight of quality, ethics and the long-term relationship.
  • You are good at separating main and side issues based on impact and you are able to manage a large group of relationships.
  • You are a representative, social chameleon: able to create good contact and to be able to connect with very different people with different backgrounds, ages and interests.
  • You are a very strong communicator, both orally and in writing. You can tell engaging, both 1-on-1 and in front of large groups.
  • You have a real interest in the content of our work and the projects we carry out in the different countries.
  • Your organizational sensitivity is crucial to success within this complex, international non-profit organization.
  • And a good command of the Dutch and English languages ​​in both word and writing is crucial in this position.

Our department;

The Communication and Fundraising department consists of +/- 35 colleagues divided into teams based on objectives with different expertise: fundraising, relationship management, communication and media, content creation, social media management, CRM, data analysis, project management, event management and public communication. Department-wide collaboration is based on the goals (Engage, Enlarge and Strengthen). You refer to the Strengthen Team Leader.
