your job

EIA is increasingly moving towards integrated impact research. In addition to environmental information, there is also attention to an integrated thematic approach to topics such as health, climate change and adaptation, energy transition and the circular economy. As a political advisor for environmental impact assessment, you follow EIA innovations closely and give your own interpretation of this in the organization. This gives you a pioneering role in your field! You also get a lot of space to realize your ambitions. For example, with the opportunity to start initiatives or with the help of an education budget. In addition to the senior adviser EIA, you are the contact point for EIA in the province. You advise on when an EIA is required and on its added value for spatial visions, plans and projects. You also independently advise your colleagues and the board. You are also responsible for the procedural and legal oversight of investigations of provincial plans and projects, with particular emphasis on research into the impacts of the physical habitat.

You advise project managers in the organization (especially the Policy Department) from start to finish of procedures that should lead a project to decision making. In addition, you evaluate the research results in connection with the draft decisions. Good monitoring of the research and evaluation of the results guarantees information necessary for an integrated consideration in the decision-making process. This makes an important contribution to the quality of administrative decision-making. As an EIA policy advisor, you work with major projects related to energy conversion, climate, biodiversity and housing. You advise on the EIA (assessment) obligation and request for examinations. You also evaluate the research results in connection with the draft decisions, you participate in hearings of project groups and have contact with the EIA committee. You also help with the further development of the EIA instrument, which requires more strategic EIAs in addition to ordinary project-related EIAs.
