Continuation

Since November 2019, hard work has been done to realize the construction of the complex. The last part, Beroepscampus Noord, will also be ready from the 2022-2023 school year. This completes the construction of the Academic Campus in its entirety. On Thursday, September 15, Mayor Ada Grootenboer of Goeree-Overflakkee Municipality declared that the Beroepscampus is officially open!

Key
During a celebratory program, administrators, entrepreneurs, pupils and students from various secondary and MBO courses shared their vision of the business campus. The opening was framed by festive activities, such as musical intermezzos, a school song made especially for the opening, dancing by students from Albeda Danscollege, films by a number of local celebrities and the presentation of a gift on behalf of all the builders of Det Faglige. University area.

Today’s chairman Coen Pots, a passionate advocate for vocational training in the Netherlands, emphasized in his opening speech the need for cooperation in the region: “The perspective, the student and the student’s interests are paramount. Every individual has a passion, a talent, a dream and a past. The biggest key to the main improvement is the youth education/mbo’s cooperation with business. And especially in the educational institution’s own region. In recent years, it has become more and more visible that the theme of ‘training’ is part of the regional agendas. Educating a pupil or student can hardly be linked enough to the region where he or she studies, lives and later has to work. The region must be able to be proud of the presence of upper secondary and secondary vocational education.”

Collaborate and connect
Cooperation and interconnection characterize the strength of different parties under one roof, which all parties emphasized during the opening. The continuous learning process between youth education and upper secondary vocational education ensures a good coherence in the education. From eight professional profiles, delivered by RGO Middelharnis and CSG Prins Maurits, students progress to MBO courses in service and trade, energy and technology, green and agriculture, and care and welfare with MBO tutors Lentiz, Albeda, Techniek College Rotterdam , Construction workers Southwest and CuraMare. Through fairgrounds, business offices and meeting rooms, companies contribute to practical teaching courses in consultation with education.

Eggrelaxed and innovative
That Erhvervscampus has a focus on future-oriented education is not only evident from the modern classrooms where pupils and students are taught. For example, a Techlab was realized in the last construction phase Nord. Here the students work in a House of the Future with realistic tasks, such as installing solar panels and placing plastic frames. In addition, a practical workshop in the form of a small house in the Techlab has been arranged in collaboration with local entrepreneurs. The exhibition floor and other spaces give entrepreneurs the opportunity to bring education and business together. It is possible to rent the exhibition floor, offices and auditorium, for example for meetings or holding presentations, workshops or guest lectures. Finally, Skillslab offers students, employees and even partners in the care organization CuraMare opportunities for (additional) training.

From 1st pile to realization
The construction of the Business Campus started on November 27, 2019. As the main contractor, Vaessen was involved in the realization of the overall construction of the design by RoosRos Architecten. All cooperating educational parties, from youth education to upper secondary vocational education, have now found their place in this beautiful complex at the start of the 2022-2023 school year.
