JBS Textile Group A/S announced this week that it will take over Tumble ‘N Dry from 1 October, marking the start of a new phase for the children’s clothing brand. Tumble ‘N Dry started in 2007 and designs clothes for children aged zero to fourteen. While a strong online business has been built up in recent years under the leadership of Wijkermeer Investments, JBS Textile Group A/S will continue to invest in wholesale trade at home and abroad and in expanding the sales market by expanding the online cross-border activities. A major effort will also be made to strengthen the brand values of Tumble ‘N Dry, including sustainability.
Tumble ‘N Dry is an iconic Dutch brand with a proven vision for what appeals to children of all ages. The collections, featuring high-quality designs and comfortable, sustainable materials, have been affordable since inception, and after relaunching in early 2020, strong online growth has been achieved, and Tumble ‘N Dry can continue the course with this acquisition. This course is based on the following pillars: market expansion, internationalization, in addition to online expansion, also wholesale and extra focus on sustainability.
International growth plans with a sustainable basis
With the wholesale strength of JBS Textile Group A/S, these pillars will be rolled out in the existing markets, including the Netherlands, Belgium and Spain, with a view to greater visibility in the multi-brand stores and children’s department stores. International aspirations will primarily focus on Germany first.
Tumble ‘N Dry also places great emphasis on making the production chain and business operations more sustainable. The goal is to further increase the proportion of more sustainable materials for both the collections and the packaging. The GOTS-certified JBS Textile Group A/S gives Tumble ‘N Dry the opportunity to become even more sustainable together.
Lieske Dekkers, managing director Tumble ‘N Dry: “We are proud of the strong online platform that we have realized in recent years. We have been able to further strengthen the identity of Tumble ‘N Dry in our own online store and social channels, and the fan base is still growing, partly due to the high brand awareness. We are happy to welcome JBS Textile Group A/S as our new owner, and we look forward to a new phase where we can join forces. By making use of the international network, our own production facilities and many years of wholesale experience, we will be able to realize our ambitious growth plans.”
JBS Textile Group A/S
The main objective of JBS Textile Group A/S in purchasing Tumble ‘N Dry is to expand their brand portfolio with a European-oriented children’s clothing brand. This family business was founded in 1939 and has grown into one of the largest manufacturers of underwear in Scandinavia. JBS Textile Group A/S now owns more than sixteen brands, including Cristiano Ronaldo’s CR7, which are produced in-house and distributed worldwide.
Morten Skou, CSO/Export Business Developer JBS Textile Group A/S: “JBS Textile Group A/S sees Tumble ‘N Dry as the right strategic addition. This acquisition symbolizes the vision for JBS Textile Group A/S, where the ongoing development of the core activities; production, design, logistics and sales of clothes are central. The unique and attractive features of Tumble ‘N Dry, including the strong digital platform, brand identity and (international) name recognition, provide many opportunities to maximize synergies between the companies and thus expand JBS with European children’s clothing. We look forward to working with Tumble ‘N Dry and welcoming the company to the JBS family.” www.tumblendry.com
