Expo 2025 Osaka is themed ‘Designing the society of the future for our lives’ and will be about shaping a world where major crises around, for example, climate and health will determine the quality of life. With a pavilion in the ‘Saving Lives’ district, Holland wants to answer the central question in Osaka: ‘What is the happy lifestyle?’.

Liesje Schreinemacher, Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation: “A pavilion at the Expo in Osaka is the calling card of the Netherlands. It offers an international stage to show what our country has to offer in the field of climate change and healthcare. Cities are getting bigger and bigger; the challenge is to live green, healthy and happy with each other there. Dutch innovative companies can make a great contribution to this. Expo 2025 Osaka gives them every opportunity to do so and immediately ensures a better trading position in the region.”

Under the title ‘Common Ground: A Dutch invitation to create healthy communities together’; a multi-year campaign has been set up by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs working towards Expo 2025 Osaka. Like the Netherlands, Japan faces pressing and complex challenges. Such as climate change, urbanisation, ageing, the energy transition, food security, maintaining access to healthcare and ensuring the well-being of all. Important themes in which the Netherlands has a great deal of knowledge and expertise.

But no country can solve these enormous challenges alone. The Netherlands therefore wants to be a platform during the fair in Osaka to gather different perspectives and expertise and work together to reach common solutions. The pavilion and the visitor experience give the visitors a unique experience.

Tender document

The tender material can be found on Tendered. This describes what is required by the market. It shows what the goals are, what requirements the pavilion, the outdoor environment and the experience inside must meet, and how this is assessed. The offer is monitored by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO). The deadline for submitting registration is Monday 5 December 2022, at 13.00 (Dutch time).

Information meeting

RVO is organizing an online information meeting for interested parties who wish to submit a proposal on Thursday 6 October 2022 at 9.00-11.00 (Dutch time).
