Samsung wins 46 CES 2023 Innovation Awards – Samsung Newsroom Netherlands

Samsung has been recognized for delivering seamlessly connected, customizable experiences and contributing to an environmentally conscious world

Samsung has a CES for 46 of its new products and innovative services® Received the 2023 Innovation Award, including three Best of Innovation Honorees, from the Consumer Technology Association (CTA). The annual awards program recognizes distinctive design and engineering across a wide range of consumer technology product categories.

Samsung was recognized in multiple categories, underscoring its commitment to seamlessly connected consumer experiences and sustainability. Sustainability is central to Samsung, helping consumers make everyday changes that contribute to a better environment. It brings bold new ideas to life, such as investments in sustainable materials, greater energy efficiency in products, responsible recycling and easily recyclable appliances. All while reducing the carbon footprint by using 100% renewable energy in all facilities in the US, Europe and China.

Samsung products were recognized as Innovation Awards Honorees in the categories of Digital Imaging/Photography, Mobile Devices & Accessories, Gaming, Digital Health, Wearable Technologies & Video Displays, Home AV Components & Accessories, and Software & Mobile Apps. Many of the awarded products have environmentally conscious functionalities. Like the Galaxy Z Flip4 and Galaxy Z Fold4, both are made with recycled fishing nets and have 100% recycled paper packaging. Samsung has been recognized with the prestigious Best of Innovation honoree award in the categories of computer equipment and accessories, video displays and cyber security and personal privacy.

The Innovation Awards are sponsored by CTA, the host and organizer of CES – the global podium for innovation and the most influential technology event in the world. CES 2023 takes place 5-8 January in Las Vegas, Nevada and will have a strong focus on sustainability.

Samsung S3B512C security chip – Samsung’s biometric card solution S3B512C has received a Best of Innovation honoree award in the Cybersecurity & Personal Privacy category and integrates a fingerprint sensor, Security Element (SE) and Secure Processor (SP) on a single chip. As well as enhanced security features powered by Samsung’s proprietary fingerprint authentication algorithm and anti-spoofing technology. It is the cybersecurity industry’s first all-in-one security chip that reads biometric information through a fingerprint sensor and securely stores, verifies and processes encrypted data.

Galaxy Z Flip4 and Galaxy Z Flip4 Bespoke Edition – Galaxy Z Flip4 is it ultimate foldable smartphone for self-expression and is packed with innovative camera upgrades, a bigger battery and even more customization options than its predecessor. Tailor made AI laundry – Samsung’s customized AI washers and dryers won awards for their innovative design and integrated AI technologies. The Bespoke AI™ washing machine with AI OptiWash™ has been awarded in the Smart Home category, and the Bespoke AI™ tumble dryer with AI Optimal Dry has been awarded in the Home Appliance category. The Bespoke AI™ washing machine automatically identifies dust types and dirt levels and optimizes the program accordingly, while the cycles themselves can be controlled with Samsung’s SmartThings app. The Bespoke AI™ tumble dryer uses sensors and algorithms to measure the moisture content of clothes and then adjusts drying time and temperature to optimize drying cycles. The bespoke AI washers and dryers record your washing habits for a personalized experience and come in a variety of colors to suit any toilet.

SmartThings Energy – Samsung’s SmartThings Energy app has been recognized in the Software & Mobile Apps category for helping you reduce energy consumption at home. In addition to tracking energy consumption, SmartThings Energy provides insights and recommendations based on usage patterns and devices connected to the platform.

Samsung 990 PRO 2TB SSD with Heatsink – Named an Innovation Awards honoree in the Computer Equipment & Accessories category, the Samsung 990 PRO 2TB SSD with Heatsink is Samsung’s fastest PCIe 4.0 solid state drive (SSD) with superior power efficiency. Designed for gaming consoles or PCs, the SSD delivers high speeds for reduced loading times. The combination of a heatsink, nickel coating on the controller and Samsung’s Dynamic Thermal Guard maximizes cooling to prevent loss of performance due to overheating. The drive is also equipped with stylish RGB lighting.

Samsung Automotive NVMe BGA SSD 1TB (AM991) – This breakthrough innovation provides the highest sequential read speed for in-vehicle storage and unparalleled operational capabilities for AD/ADAS, cockpit and vehicle infotainment systems. Samsung 512GB CXL Memory ExpanderSamsung’s 512 GB CXL Memory Expander module has been awarded in the Computer Hardware & Components category. It will be the first memory module to support the long-awaited CXL 2.0 interface and will be delivered in an EDSFF (E3.S) format – particularly suitable for enterprise servers and high-capacity data centers. This new memory module is built with an application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) CXL controller that uses DDR5 DRAM for maximum bandwidth and capacity and can scale beyond tens of terabytes with the processing demands of big data and AI/ML workloads.

Samsung 16 GB LPDDR5X and 1 TB UFS 3.1 Multi-chip package – By integrating 14nm 16GB LPDDR5X DRAM and Samsung’s seventh generation quad-level cell (QLC) V-NAND 1TB UFS (Universal Flash Storage) 3.1, this uMCP is a giant leap forward. He was awarded in the Embedded Technologies category. This integrated UFS-based multi-chip package provides higher density, higher speed and low power consumption memory for premium smartphones and other leading IT applications.

Samsung ISOCELL HP3 CMOS image sensor – This advanced mobile sensor with a 1/1.4-inch optical format and 0.56 ㎛ pixel size for slimmer camera design has been honored in the Digital Imaging/Photography category. The ISOCELL HP3 has the smallest pixel technology in mobile cameras for greater design-friendliness and 200 megapixels for the most detailed images. Thanks to Tetra2pixel technology, pixels in size 1.12㎛ or 2.24㎛ work. As a result, more light information is recorded in low light and 8K video with minimal loss in the field of view. In addition, the ISOCELL HP3 can record autofocus information horizontally and vertically, thanks to Super QPD technology.

Samsung W920+RF 6550 Next Gen Enhancement for Wearables – The Exynos W920 system on a chip (SoC) and the Exynos RF 6550 connectivity solution together form a tandem offering that has been recognized in the Wearable Technologies category. Manufactured with a 5-nanometer (nm) Extreme Ultra-Violet (EUV) process, the Exynos W920 processor includes an LTE modem and delivers the performance required by the latest portable devices with a powerful GPU and dual core CPU. The included RF 6550 chip, built on a 28nm process, integrates reliable Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GNSS connectivity into the Exynos W920 design[1].
